About Heardley.
Heardley is an indie B2B SaaS for Reddit lead-discovery, plus AI-citation tracking and reply linting. Built in May 2026 to fill the gap left by GummySearch and Howitzer shutting down.
Why this exists
GummySearch shut down in November 2025 after Reddit denied their commercial API license. Howitzer's domain now redirects to a LinkedIn tool. Both used to charge $29 to $199/month for Reddit lead tracking. Their old customers are searching for replacements right now, and the replacement field is a scramble of half-finished tools.
Heardley exists because the operator behind it wanted a tool that didn't exist yet: a free OpenRouter key for AI instead of $20-60/mo of LLM markup baked into the subscription, a reply linter instead of an auto-DM generator, and a clear data-export commitment so nobody gets stranded if the hosted version ever shuts down.
How it's different
- Bring your own OpenRouter key. Every other tool bakes $20-$60/mo of LLM markup into the subscription. Heardley doesn't. You pay OpenRouter directly (free tier works for most users) and the software is $9/mo.
- No auto-reply. The reply linter exists specifically because every Reddit user can spot AI-generated replies in 0.4 seconds. Heardley catches the patterns (em-dashes, "leverage", parallel bullets) before you post, instead of generating slop for you.
